Little Bookery

Children's Data, Likeness & Retention Policy

Last updated: August 16, 2026

LB Ventures LLC, d/b/a Little Bookery™

Effective Date: August 16, 2026

1. Purpose and Scope

This Policy sets forth the practices of LB Ventures LLC, d/b/a Little Bookery ("Company"), with respect to information concerning minor children processed through the Little Bookery service (the "Service"). It supplements the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service and controls in the event of conflict with either with respect to the subject matter herein.

The Service is used and purchased by adults. The individual depicted in and described by a Storybook (the "Subject Child") is not a user of the Service, holds no account, and does not interact with the Company. The Subject Child is, however, the subject of the majority of the personal information the Service processes, and the Company maintains this Policy to state its practices with respect to that information with specificity.

2. Categories of Information Concerning a Subject Child

The following information is provided by the adult account holder; no information is collected from the Subject Child directly or from any third-party source:

(a) Identity attributes: first name; age; optionally, month and year of birth (a full date of birth is not collected); gender presentation;

(b) Appearance attributes: hair color, length, texture, and style; eye color; skin tone; presence of freckles; presence and style of glasses;

(c) Preference attributes: personality traits and stated favorites;

(d) Photographs (each optional): a photograph of the Subject Child; a photograph of a family member or friend, who may be an adult, submitted for the creation of an additional character; a photograph of a pet; and a dedication photograph for inclusion in a printed product;

(e) Generated and derived content: an illustrated character image; page and cover illustrations depicting the character; story text incorporating the Subject Child's first name; and the structured generation records, including textual appearance attributes, required to produce and reprint Storybooks.

3. Photograph Handling

3.1 Transient Processing; No Persistent Storage. A photograph submitted for character generation — whether of a Subject Child, of a family member or friend (who may be an adult), or of a pet — is processed transiently in memory for the duration of the associated request, is transmitted to the Company's artificial-intelligence processing providers solely for the purpose of generating the requested character, and is not written to the Company's database or file storage. The Company retains no copy of such photographs following completion of the request.

3.2 Service-Provider Processing. Photographs and appearance attributes transmitted to the Company's artificial-intelligence processing providers are processed solely to provide the requested generation. Such providers are not permitted to use submitted content to train or improve their models. Providers may retain limited records for security and abuse-monitoring purposes for limited periods in accordance with their published terms.

3.3 Dedication Photograph. The dedication photograph is the sole photograph retained at rest by the Service, and only because retention is required to manufacture the printed product in which it appears. The dedication photograph is stored in access-controlled storage that is not reachable at any public address, is served solely through authenticated requests by the owning account, and is deleted ninety (90) days following fulfillment of the associated printed product, or ninety (90) days following upload where no product is ordered. Reprints following such deletion require re-submission. Submission of a dedication photograph is conditioned upon the attestation described in Section 5, including with respect to any individual other than the Subject Child appearing therein.

4. Generated Likeness

From the attributes and, where provided, the photograph described above, the Service generates an original illustrated character in a watercolor style. The Company does not perform facial recognition; does not create any faceprint, facial-geometry template, or other biometric identifier or mathematical representation of a face; does not attempt to identify any individual; and does not compare any face or likeness against any database. Appearance attributes derived from a photograph are limited to categorical descriptions selected from fixed vocabularies (for example, enumerated hair colors and eye colors) together with brief descriptive text used solely for illustration purposes.

Generated character images, page illustrations, cover illustrations, and the associated generation records are retained for the life of the associated Storybook or saved character profile and are deleted upon deletion thereof as described in Section 6.

5. Consent and Attestation

Prior to the submission of any photograph, the Service requires the submitting account holder to affirmatively attest that: (a) the account holder is at least eighteen (18) years of age; and (b) the account holder is the parent or legal guardian of the Subject Child, or has obtained the consent, whether verbal or written, of the Subject Child's parent or legal guardian to the submission of the photograph and the creation of a character based upon it. With respect to a dedication photograph, the attestation extends to consent for each identifiable individual appearing in the photograph.

The same attestation framework applies to any Service feature permitting the creation of additional characters depicting individuals other than the Subject Child, including family members and friends. An account holder unable to make the required attestation may create characters using manually entered descriptive attributes without submitting a photograph.

Each attestation is recorded together with the date and time, the version of the consent language presented, the relationship asserted, and associated request metadata. Responsibility for the truthfulness of an attestation rests with the person making it, as set forth in the Terms of Service.
